Session Info

-Before your session-

All sessions begin when you contact me to book a time. If you’re wanting to book in Maternity or Family Sessions feel free to contact me anytime. Maternity sessions are best held between 34-36 weeks to make sure we get in before your baby makes an appearance but other than that, there are no time restrictions. If you’re hoping to book a Newborn Session it really helps if you can contact me before your baby is born. I will make a tentative booking for you around your baby’s due date to make sure I keep time available and then when your baby is here, we can arrange a time that suits us both. Newborn sessions are best held within the first 10 days so that your baby is still sleepy and curly. If you’re thinking of newborn photos but your baby is already here, feel free to contact me anyway, we may be able to squeeze you in or even arrange a Lifestyle Newborn Session which is perfect for slightly older babies. Regardless of your session type, I will chat with you via email or in person and answer any questions you might have. Have you chosen where you’d like to have your session? Family and Maternity sessions can be held just about anywhere. Lifestyle sessions are usually held at your home and newborn sessions are usually held at my home studio in Orleana Waters, just outside of Gawler. It’s also a good idea to choose a time of day that suits you best. This can vary a lot depending on location but generally the best time to hold sessions is in the first two hours after sunrise or before sunset. You may also want to start thinking about what to wear. Feel free to check out some of my suggestions here.

-ON THE DAY-

Maternity

On the day of your maternity session all you have to do is get ready and meet me at our arranged time at a beautiful location. Feel free to bring a few outfits and if you would like me to, I will also bring a maternity gown or two. If it’s just you and your partner we will have lots of time to play and do different things, if you’re bringing your bigger kids too then it will be much more like a family session.

Newborn

Your newborn session will usually start at around 10am and should go for around 3-4 hours. If you have older children you’re including I will try to get those photos first so they can go to a local park with Dad or Mum or be picked up by grandparents. I love to include you in choosing colours for your baby’s session so the finished photos will work perfectly in your home. Babies do and will have accidents during newborn sessions so please don’t worry about this! Every newborn session ends with a pile of washing which I don’t mind at all! (don’t forget a change of clothes for yourself though!)

Family

On the day of your family session all you have to do is get everyone ready and meet me at our arranged time at a beautiful location. Then we get to spend an hour or so having fun and capturing some beautiful memories for your family. Feel free to bring your kids favourite toy/s and anything you feel might help them if they need a bit of encouragement *cough*bribes*cough*! If your little one falls asleep in the car, don’t stress, I’m happy to take some time for them to wake up and get used to being in a new place. We will all be friends before the end of the session!

-After Your Session-

After your session there is nothing left for you to do! I will do my best to get your photos to you as soon as possible and will send you some sneak peeks along the way. When your photos are finished you will receive an email with a link to an online gallery of websized watermarked files. Feel free to download these images and share them with friends and family and on social media. Once you have received your gallery, if you’re having other prints or canvases, you can use this as an opportunity to chose which images you would like printed. I will then organise to have a USB of the images sent to you. If you’re having multiple sessions, like Maternity and Newborn, I will generally wait until all your images are finished before sending you a USB which includes all your sessions.
